A List of Different kinds of writing (click on each kind for suggestions for questions)

  1. History

  2. Laws & rules & commandments (in the Torah–Exodus through Deuteronomy with lots of mixture with other types).  We are NOT including commands in the prophets, Psalms, or New Testament letters here.

  3. Prophecy written in regular speech, like a newspaper (prose)

  4. Prophecy with unusual images (parts of Ezekiel, Zechariah, Daniel, Revelation.  This kind of prophecy is called “Apocalyptic Prophecy”)

  5. Poetry

    1. Prophecy written in poetry (more than one half of the Old Testament prophets wrote their prophecies in poetry)
