Some Scripture Prayers

1 EPHESIANS 3:16-19  Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches you would strengthen  ___________  with power through Your Spirit, so that Christ may dwell in  ___________ ‘s heart through faith. And I pray that  ___________  would be rooted and established in love. Please let   ___________   ___________  have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is Your love in Christ and may   ___________   know this love that surpasses knowledge- that (s)he may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of You.

 

2 COLOSSIANS 1:9-12  Father, thank you for   ___________  . I ask that You would fill   ___________   with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. May   ___________   bear fruit in every good work. Increase   ___________  ‘s knowledge of You. Strengthen (her)him with all power, according to Your glorious might, that  ___________  may have endurance and patience. Thank you Lord for qualifying   ___________   to share in the kingdom of Light.

 

3 JAMES 1:21-22  Help  ___________  to put aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, and in humility to receive the word implanted, which is able to save (her)his soul.   Help _____________ not to be just a hearer of the word, but a doer.

 

4  I ask that   ___________   would not resist evil people; but would turn the other cheek when slapped, give generously of (her)his possessions when asked and not turn away anyone who asks. Help   ___________   ___________  to love (her)his enemies and pray for those who persecute  ___________ , so that (s)he may be a child of the Father who is in heaven.

 

5 PHILIPPIANS 3:8-15  I ask that  ___________  would have the same attitude as Paul, that  ___________  would count all things rubbish for the sake of knowing Christ. May  ___________  be found in Christ, not having a righteousness of (her)his own, but rather a righteousness that is only through faith in Christ. May  ___________  know Christ in the power of (her)his resurrection and the fellowship of (her)his sufferings; may  ___________  be conformed to Christ’s death.

 

6 JAMES 1:21-22I ask that ___________ would put aside all filthiness and all of the remains of wickedness and would receive the word implanted which is able to save ___________’s soul.  I pray that ___________ will not be a hearer of the word only but would be a doer, so that ___________ would look intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty and abide by it.

 

7 PHILIPPIANS 3:12-14  May   ___________   press on to take hold of all for which Christ took hold of him.  I pray that  ___________  would forget all that (s)he left behind and would reach forward to what lies ahead in Christ. May  ___________  press on toward the goal to win the prize to which You, God, have called  ___________  upward in Christ Jesus.

 

8  ROMANS 12:1-2 Please let ___________ by your mercies to present himself to you as a living sacrifice, acceptable to You, which is ___________’s reasonable service of worship.  I pray that ___________ will not be conformed to this world, but will be transformed by the renewing of ___________’s mind, so that ___________ can approve the things that are excellent, so that ___________ can be sincere and blameless in the day of Christ.

 

9  ACTS 26:18  Please open the eyes of  ___________  so that  ___________  may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that  ___________  may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Christ.

 

10  1 PETER 2:11-12  Remind  ___________  that (s)he is an alien and stranger in this world and help   ___________   to abstain from freshly lusts, which wage war against (her)his soul. Keep  ___________ ‘s behavior excellent among all people, so that all may see (her)his good deeds and glorify You, our God.

 

11 MATTHEW 6:31-32  Help ___________ not to worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ Help ___________ know that the idolaters eagerly seek all these things, and our heavenly Father knows that you need them. Please help ___________ to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, and please provide all these things.”

 

12  PROVERBS 3:5-6  Help ___________ to trust in You with all of ___________’s heart and not to lean on ___________’s own understand.  In all ___________’s ways let ___________ acknowledge you and please make the paths straight.

 

13  PHILIPPIANS 1:9-11  I pray that ___________’s love will keep on growing more and more, together with true knowledge and perfect judgement, so that ___________ will be able to choose what is best. I pray that ___________ will be free from all impurity and blame on the Day of Christ. I pray that ___________’S life will be filled with the truly good qualities which only Jesus Christ can produce, for the glory and praise of God.

 

14  1 Peter 3:7  Praying for a man who is married:  I pray that __________ will live with his wife with the proper understanding that she is weaker than he is. I pray that he will treat her with respect, and he will realize that she also will receive, together with him, God’s gift of life. Help him to realize he must do this so that nothing will interfere with his prayers.

 

15  EPHESIANS 5:25-27  Praying for a man who is married:  I pray that _____________ will love his wife as You, Lord Jesus, also loved the Church.  I pray that he will live to present her to You in all her spiritual beauty, pure and faultless, without spot or wrinkle or any other imperfection through Your gospel.  I pray that he will love her as he loves his own body.  I pray he will nourish and cherish her and take care of her the way You, Lord, take care of Your church.
