Possible Questions for inductive Bible Study for Torah Commands
NOTE: There is a lot of variety within the 5 books of the Torah. We have commands, teachings, prophecy, lots of history, and a little poetry. We are dealing with commandments, statutes, rules, etc., in these possible questions.
Is this command next to other similar commands? Is this command adding something to the command right before it?
OR… is this command in your passage taking a teaching or event from the paragraph before this and giving what the Hebrews were supposed to do about it.
Does this command have explanation built into it? What does the explanation make clear about the command?
Does this command have a set of words with it, like, “Be holy for I am holy” or a different phrase?
Does this command mention “the Land”? If it does, what does it say about the Land?
Is there a threat to the Hebrews if they do not obey this command? Does the threat mention the land? Does the threat mention blessing and curses?
